We are Adams Health Insurance Services, a father-and-son family company located in Old Town Camarillo. William has been residing in Camarillo since 1982, where he and his wife, Loly, raised their two boys. Michael brings his experience in the healthcare industry to operate Adams Health Insurance Services alongside his father.
I was born and raised in Cleveland, OH, and moved from New York to California in the early 1970s to begin my career in footwear. I have resided in Camarillo, California, since 1982 with my lovely wife Loly, a retired translator and educator with the Pleasant Valley School District. We have two sons, Michael and Robert. My oldest, Michael J. Adams, now works with me.
After graduating from St. Joseph High School in Cleveland and attending Kent State University, I embarked on a 30-year journey in the footwear industry, culminating in roles like National Account Executive for Etienne Aigner in New York, where I helped launch their comfortable footwear line Easentials, driving sales from $0 to $20 million.
In 2002, following 9/11 and a desire to reduce travel, I shifted to the health insurance industry. I spent my first year learning the market with an agency in Orange County before launching my own practice. Based in Ventura County, I help clients with health, dental, vision, and life insurance for small businesses, Medicare beneficiaries, and families. I currently service over 700 clients across California and six other states.
We specialize in helping Medicare beneficiaries navigate plan complexities—our oldest client turns 100 this September! Additionally, I enjoy helping the self-employed and individual/family markets through Covered California.
I was born and raised in Camarillo, CA. After a year at Moorpark College, I moved to Reno and later Kings Beach on the north shore of Lake Tahoe. It was there that I found my first professional calling, starting as a line cook and working my way up to Chef.
In my culinary career, I worked for renowned chefs and ran my own kitchens. One thing my father always ingrained in me was the absolute necessity of health insurance. While in Lake Tahoe, I required emergency surgery for appendicitis; looking at that final bill, I realized my father was 100% correct.
Fast forward to the present: I was given the opportunity to move home, learn the industry from my father, and continue the legacy of Adams Health Insurance Services. The insurance world can be a challenge even for experienced agents, let alone for those navigating coverage and costs for the first time.
I don’t see myself as a salesman, but as a steward here to present your best choices. In a world of robots and automation, I still firmly believe in human interaction—in person whenever possible.
